The Angus Aftermath

22 November, 2016 by Ian

heavy-rainIt is only natural to be worried when it rains like it has rained in the past few days. Storm Angus saw our river levels rising fast and put some of the renewed emergency pumps on the Somerset Levels under considerable strain. Fortunately the warnings are back down to “amber” today, but there is no getting away from the fact that serious damage was caused by flooding. The human impact is always considerable. For those affected it is worth publicising the Association of British Insurers guide: “Responding to Major Floods” which offers a great deal of practical advice.  Meantime please note that as I write there are still significant 25 flood alerts in force in our area. You can check this information for yourself on the Environment Agency’s Flood website
