Flood Prevention – the hard work goes on

somerset-rivers-authority-logoThe horror of the floods may seem a distant memory, but the remedial work to stop it happening again has become a constant feature of life. At least we now know exactly what is being done, who is doing it and whhttp://www.somersetriversauthority.org.uk/at is planned to happen in the near future. The big projects, like the planned tidal barrier at the mouth of the River Parrett, will take time and a great deal of money to build. But dredging is still taking place and there are all sorts of schemes throughout the county to minimise risk and safeguard life and property – read about them all in the Rivers Authority’s latest report.
