National Parks Week logoIt is National Parks Week – time to be appreciate the wonderful scenery right on our own doorstep. And here are a few things you may not have realised about Exmoor:

Did you know – Exmoor has the most remote shoreline in England?

Did you know – Exmoor has an exceptionally wooded coastline?

Did you know – Exmoor has high altitude beech trees?

Did you know – Exmoor has the highest sea cliffs on the British Mainland?

Did you know – Exmoor has  waterfalls on the sea cliffs?

Did you know – Exmoor has the highest and lowest tides in Europe?

Did you know – Exmoor has plants that grow nowhere else?

Did you know – Exmoor is where Britain’s longest path starts ?

Did you know – Exmoor’s rocks are moving north? (slowly of course!)

Did you know – Exmoor ponies are our oldest breed of horse?

You can see them at the splendid Exmoor Pony Festival soon. And if you want to know more about what we have to offer take a look at the pocket Exmoor guide
