Powering our Rural Economy

11 March, 2020 by Ian

It is Budget Day, and I am keeping my fingers crossed  that the Chancellor will recognise the importance of our rural economy. This constituency has farmers, food producers, and tourist businesses galore. We want a fair playing field that will allow such vital industries to prosper and grow. That means proper connectivity for broadband and mobile phones, more sensible planning rules and some helpful tweaks to taxation for starters. Like many MPs I am backing the campaign launched by the CLA to get a better deal. This is the CLA submission to the Chancellor. Let us see what emerges as the day goes on.
