Help for hospices

21 August, 2019 by Ian

Last night the Prime Minister pledged £25 million of NHS spending should be given to hospices. We have several in the constituency and they provide a wonderful service to families.

Finding the money to run them is an ongoing problem. Generous donations and enthusiastic fundraising are the lifeblood of most hospices – for example, you can support the work of one of our leading hospices by walking the beautiful South West coastal path next month – but government contributions are an even bigger ingredient.

£25 million may not go far when spread across the whole nation, however as the PM has said, this is just the start. I agree.
