RESIDENTS of Moorland received a Royal visit when the Earl and Countess of Wessex arrived yesterday. But Moorland is a very different place from the waterlogged scenes that everyone suffered at the height of the floods.
Prince Edward and his wife Sophie were welcomed by flood victims, school children and volunteers from the Somerset Emergency Volunteer group as they arrived and got to speak to a few people before walking down to Church Farm, one of the many buildings that was severely damaged in the floods earlier this year.
Resident Kathy Robertson said: “It’s delightful that they can keep in the loop with what’s going on and offer their support.
