A great deal of hot air is generated on this issue. Wind power is hailed (incorrectly) as the answer to all our energy problems. It isn't. It never will be. Using renewable sources of power obviously makes sense as a contribution to our overall energy needs, but using wind power to the exclusion of everything else is dotty. I am currently very worried about the scale of certain developments, and the unbridled enthusiasm of some of our politicians. Somerset County Council, for example, is seriously considering erecting wind turbines on some of its own farm land. The green splodges on the map show exactly where.....and there are quite a few green splodges!

BUT.....I have absolutely nothing against wind power provided we all realise the limitations. In fact you can buy a mini turbine to stick on your own roof. David Cameron MP is ordering one. The Government's energy minister is ordering another. Have a look at what you can get for your money:
