Bridgwater, Somerset West and Sedgemoor is a sprawling Constituency over 60 miles long and at least 500 square miles. The map below just gives you a very rough idea of the shape of the place - Exmoor to the west, the lowlands of Sedgemoor to the east. It is, like most Parliamentary constituencies, an artificial grouping of different towns and villages in order that around 70,000 constituents should be represented by a single MP. The big towns are Bridgwater and Minehead. The tiny towns and picturesque villages are too numerous to put on a map of this size.
How to get here?
The M5 gets you close. The old A38 gets you closer still. Taking the train is a pain, because Bridgwater itself is on a branch line from Bristol......so its London to Bristol fast and Bristol to Bridgwater at a gentle pace! Alternatively go London to Taunton and chance your arm by bus. Once upon a time there was a wonderful rail network that criss-crossed the whole area, but Dr Beeching got rid of it.
However if you can find your way to the coast you can probably catch the West Somerset Railway - enthusiastically restored and maintained by enthusiasts (here's their website for reference: http://www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk/)
